Concert in memory of the victims of the Holocaust
On the occasion of the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, Centro Sefarad-Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation are organizing this concert.
January 27 is the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, and for this reason Centro Sefarad-Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation want to remember the memory of the victims of the Shoah through music, with a very special concert whose program will have a special link to the Jewish world.
The concert will be performed by young people belonging to the Orquesta Joven IES Cardenal Cisneros. And the program will have a very special link to the Jewish world. The recital will begin with the composition “From Jewish Life” by Ernest Bloch. Afterwards, the audience will enjoy the “Quartet No. 1” by the Jewish-rooted composer Felix Mendelssohn and the “Adagio for Strings” by Samuel Barber. And finally, the concert will end with an arrangement of the main theme from the soundtrack of “Schildler’s List” by John Williams.
